Quantity breaks are a pricing strategy where the unit price decreases as customers add more items. For example:

  • Buy 1 item β†’ $20 each

  • Buy 3–4 items β†’ $18 each

  • Buy 5+ items β†’ $15 each

This encourages bulk purchases and rewards customers with better prices for higher quantities.

Step 1: Access to MBC Bundle Builder

  1. On your dashboard, navigate to MBC Bundle Builder

  2. Click to 'Create builder'

Step 2: Add products (or collections)

  1. Under Products, add the single product or a small set of products you want to apply quantity breaks to.

  2. If you want to allow multiple products, use a Collection instead.

πŸ’‘ Tip: If you’re offering quantity breaks for one SKU (e.g., t-shirts), just add that product here.

Step 3: Add product conditions (optional)

Conditions can control how customers interact with the bundle:

  • Number of products β‰₯ 1 β†’ ensures at least one item is selected.

  • Number of products β‰₯ 3 β†’ creates a logical entry point for your first discount tier.

πŸ‘‰ These are optional. If you don’t set product conditions, customers can freely add as many as they want β€” the discount rules (next step) will handle the pricing.

Step 4: Set discount type

  1. Scroll to Builder pricing.

  2. Select Discount on total bundle price.

  3. Add multiple discount rates to represent each price break tier.

Click to 'Add conditions' and 'Add discount rate'.

Step 5: Add discount rates and conditions

This is where you create your price break structure. You can use:

  • Percentage discounts β†’ good for scaling discounts (e.g., 10%, 15%, 20%).

  • Fixed discounts β†’ good for clear β€œ$ off per bundle” savings.

  • Fixed price β†’ good for locking in a unit price (e.g., 5 items for $50).

Example setups

Percentage discount (classic quantity break)

  • Discount rate 1: 10% off β†’ Number of products β‰₯ 3

  • Discount rate 2: 15% off β†’ Number of products β‰₯ 5

  • Discount rate 3: 20% off β†’ Number of products β‰₯ 10

Fixed discount

  • Discount rate 1: $5 off β†’ Number of products β‰₯ 3

  • Discount rate 2: $10 off β†’ Number of products β‰₯ 5

Fixed price (per unit pricing)

  • Discount rate 1: $18 fixed price β†’ Number of products β‰₯ 3

  • Discount rate 2: $15 fixed price β†’ Number of products β‰₯ 5

Step 6: Save and test

  • Click Save.

  • Use Preview to add different quantities of the product.

  • Confirm that the correct discount or unit price applies at each tier.

  • Make sure higher quantity thresholds override the lower ones.
