Tiered discounts encourage shoppers to add more products to their bundle by increasing the discount as the bundle size or value grows. For example, “Buy 3 items, get 10% off. Buy 5 items, get 15% off. Buy 8 items, get 20% off.”

Step 1: Access to MBC Bundle Builder

  1. On your dashboard, navigate to MBC Bundle Builder

  2. Click to 'Create builder'

Step 2: Add products (or collections)

  1. Under Products, choose whether to add specific Products or entire Collections.

  2. Click Add products and select the items that will be part of the tiered discount bundle.

💡 Use the Required option if certain products must always be included.

Step 3: Add product conditions (optional)

Conditions here control how customers build the bundle, but they’re optional.

Examples:

  • Fixed bundle sizeNumber of products is equal to 4.

  • Minimum thresholdNumber of products is greater than or equal to 3.

👉 You can use these if you want to enforce entry rules before tiered discounts apply.

Step 4: Set tiered discounts

To create tiered discounts in MBC Bundle Builder, you add multiple discount rates. Each rate = one tier.

  1. Scroll down to Builder pricing.

  2. Select Discount on total bundle price.

  3. Click to 'Add discount rate' to create tiers.

Example: Buy More, Save More

  1. Discount rate 1

    • Type: Fixed discount

    • Value: $10 off

    • Condition: Number of products ≥ 3

  2. Discount rate 2

    • Type: Percentage

    • Value: 15% off

    • Condition: Number of products ≥ 5

  3. Discount rate 3

    • Type: Percentage

    • Value: 20% off

    • Condition: Number of products ≥ 8

How it works

  • When customers add 3 products, they get $10 off.

  • When they add 5 products, the discount changes to 15% off.

  • When they add 8 products, it increases to 20% off.

👉 Each discount rate has its own condition. The highest condition met will apply.

Step 5: Add discount rates and conditions

Each discount tier should have:

  • Discount type → Percentage, Fixed discount, or Fixed price.

  • Discount value → Amount of discount for that tier.

  • Condition → The trigger (based on Price, Number of products, or Number of different products).

Examples:

  • Quantity-based tiers

    • Discount rate 1: 10% off → Number of products ≥ 3.

    • Discount rate 2: 15% off → Number of products ≥ 5.

    • Discount rate 3: 20% off → Number of products ≥ 8.

  • Spend-based tiers

    • Discount rate 1: $10 off → Price ≥ $100.

    • Discount rate 2: $20 off → Price ≥ $200.

    • Discount rate 3: $40 off → Price ≥ $400.

  • Variety-based tiers

    • Discount rate 1: 5% off → Number of different products ≥ 3.

    • Discount rate 2: 10% off → Number of different products ≥ 5.

    • Discount rate 3: 15% off → Number of different products ≥ 7.

👉 Use AND/OR logic to combine rules if needed (e.g., Price ≥ $200 AND Number of products ≥ 5).

⚡ Tip: Keep your tiers progressive (3 → 5 → 8) and use either all percentages or all fixed discounts if you want a clean, predictable structure. Mixing types (like fixed + percentage) is possible, but can sometimes confuse shoppers.

Step 6: Save and test

  • Click Save.

  • Use Preview to walk through the bundle builder:

    • Add products and confirm that the correct tier applies as customers increase their bundle size or spend.

    • Test multiple tiers to ensure discounts stack correctly.
