Volume discounts reward customers for buying larger quantities of products in a bundle. Unlike tiered discounts (which can be based on spend or product variety), volume discounts are always tied to the number of items added. For example:
Buy 3–4 items → 5% off
Buy 5–7 items → 10% off
Buy 8+ items → 15% off
This model is great for bulk sales or encouraging customers to add “just one more item” to unlock savings.
Step 1: Access to MBC Bundle Builder
On your dashboard, navigate to MBC Bundle Builder
Click to 'Create builder'
Step 2: Add products (or collections)
Under Products, choose whether to add specific Products or entire Collections.
Click Add products and select the items eligible for volume discounts.
💡 You can mark products as Required if you want to ensure certain items are always included.
Step 3: Add product conditions (optional)
These conditions define how customers build the bundle before a discount is even applied.
Examples:
Minimum number of products → Number of products is greater than or equal to 2.
Exact number of products → Number of products is equal to 6.
👉 These are optional. Use them if you want to restrict how bundles are built, but they’re not necessary if you simply want flexible “bulk buy” savings.
Step 4: Set discount type
Scroll down to Builder pricing.
Select Discount on total bundle price.
Add multiple discount rates to represent each volume tier.
Step 5: Add discount rates and conditions
Each discount rate corresponds to a quantity threshold.
Click to 'Add conditions' and 'Add discount rate'.
Use Number of products or Number of different products as the trigger.
Examples:
Quantity-based volume discount
Discount rate 1: 5% off → Number of products ≥ 3
Discount rate 2: 10% off → Number of products ≥ 5
Discount rate 3: 15% off → Number of products ≥ 8
Variety-based volume discount (for Mix & Match)
Discount rate 1: $5 off → Number of different products ≥ 3
Discount rate 2: $10 off → Number of different products ≥ 5
👉 You can choose Percentage, Fixed discount, or Fixed price for each tier, depending on your promotion strategy.
Step 6: Save and test
Click Save.
Use Preview to simulate customer behavior:
Add different quantities and confirm that the correct discount applies.
Check that higher thresholds override lower ones correctly.
